INCURSIONS
Science for Schoolers brings the wonderful world of science to children in a engaging and educational way. Our science incursions are perfect for National Science Week (15th - 23rd August, 2021) or at any time when your students would like to explore science in the class room.

Our incursions can help children develop a range of life skills such as:
- logical thinking and reasoning
- planning and predicting
- problem solving
- communication
- teamwork
- listening and observing
- memory and recall

Our incursions are 60 minutes in duration and commence with an interactive presentation on the core theme of what is science and how everyone can be a scientist. The theory is then applied through fun, hands-on science experiments / activities that focus on the three main natural sciences: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Earth Sciences. The children will experience both a group and individual science experiment. The incursion is then concluded with a science themed story to summarise the concepts learnt.

At the end of the session, a report is given to parents / guardians that summarises the learning areas and objectives of the incursion in order to promote further discussions at home such that learning does not end when the incursion does. Children are also able to take home one of their science experiments to show their parents!
To conduct an incursion, a minimum of approximately 20 children is preferred or the equivalent cost. The incursion includes an instructor and all materials required to perform the science experiments / activities. All our instructors have a current working with children licence and extensive experience working with children.

The cost is $15.00 per child for the 60 minute incursion. Numbers must be confirmed at the time of the booking to ensure there is sufficient material available for each child.

Once we have confirmed the booking with you, payment is required 2 weeks prior to the booked incursion date. If you wish to cancel your booking after confirmation, a 20% cancellation fee will apply. Please rest assured that we are offering the option to postpone for COVID related reasons.

SCIENCE CLUB at your school!
Our Science Club for primary schoolers is an extracurricular program that teaches children scientific concepts which can help develop a range of life skills. Each term our Science Club program focuses on a particular topic within Life, Physical or Earth Science. The program begins with the introduction of the basic concepts of the topic being covered for the term which is then built upon and extended every week.
Our classes are 30 to 45 minutes in duration and commence with an interactive presentation on the core theme for the class. The theory is then applied through fun, hands-on science experiments/activities with a focus on S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics). The class is then concluded with a science themed group discussion based on the topic of the class to summarise the concepts explored. At the end of each class, a report is given to parents/guardians that summarises the learning areas and objectives of the class in order to promote further discussions at home such that learning does not end when the class does.
Schools can choose to manage the enrolment of students themselves or choose Science for Schoolers to manage the enrolment of students by parents/guardians enrolling their child into the program via our website.
To conduct our Science Club term program, a minimum of 20 children or the equivalent cost of 20 children is required. The program includes one or two instructors depending on the class size and all materials required to perform the science experiments/activities. All instructors have a current working with children licence and extensive experience working with primary school children. We also have a very stringent COVID safe policy to keep the children, educators, and our team safe.
The cost for our Science Club is $10.00 per child per class with every term running for a total of 7 classes. We can conduct our science club classes before school, after school, during school hours and/or at lunch time.
